POINT THE COMPASS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

The Orientation Exercise

The Orientation is a short, honest exercise: you take all eight areas of your life, score each one, and see immediately where your energy has been going. What's working. What you've been putting off. Where you want your attention to go next.
It's the same strategic thinking you already apply to every division of your business, now pointed at your life. One sitting, start to finish, and you know which way to head.

‍Why the Orientation works.

Most of us review our businesses far more often than we review our lives. The same intentionality you bring to a quarterly review will do as much for your family, your health and your friendships as it does for your revenue.

The Orientation is a high-level reset. In one pass you see the whole picture: the areas that are thriving, the ones that have quietly gone untended, and the gap between them. You finish holding three things: the good you want to protect, the one area you're giving this year to, and the one conversation that starts it.

What's Inside

Your free download walks you through the eight areas of life. For each one, you give it a score out of ten, then answer four questions: what's going well, what you're most dissatisfied with, what it would look like if it were perfect, and why it matters to you.

Family.
Your kids, your parents, your siblings. The people you'd drop everything for.
‍
‍Physical. Your health and your energy.
‍
‍Financial. Your own security and freedom, separate from the business.

‍Mental. How you're growing and what you're learning.

‍Spiritual. Meaning, purpose and what you give back.

‍Social. Friendships. The people who knew you before, and the ones who'd call for no reason.

‍Career. The work and the impact it has.

‍Relationship. Your spouse or partner.

How to do the Orientation

Print it and write by hand.
It slows you down enough to be useful.

‍Start with what's going well.
Most of us move past the good parts without stopping, and you'll assess the area far more accurately once you've looked at them properly.

‍Score it fast.
The number you land on in a few seconds is usually the real one.

‍Do all eight.
Including the ones you'd rather skip.

‍Then pick one.
One area for the year. Two or three hours a day for a year is a thousand hours, and a thousand hours will change almost anything.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU COMPLETE IT
Read it once a week. Same time, thirty minutes. I've done that for thirty years and it's the only reason any of it happened.
Have the conversation. Name who could support you in the area you chose, and tell them. Saying it out loud is what makes it real.
Do it again when something shifts. A new year, a major change, a season that didn't go the way you planned. The page gets reprinted. That's the point of it.

Ready to Go Deeper?

Seeing where you stand is the beginning. Closing the gap is the work. The Life Business Plan Academy helps you build the systems, habits, and accountability to actually change the area you've chosen. If the exercise stirs something in you, and you finish it thinking I know exactly where I want my attention to go, that's what we're here for.
